I stubbled upon this song by TLC and this past week with terror attacks everywhere listening to these lyrics by TLC really made me think twice about this whole beauty business. I mean read this particular sentence…

“You can buy your hair if it won’t grow….you can buy all the make-up that M.A.C can make but if you can’t look inside you find out who am I too, Be in the position to make me feel so Damn Unpretty”.

Although war and terrorism may not necessarily begin with someone making another person feel unpretty, I believe that if you are happy with yourself the less of a reason you have to look to other peoples faults, for things to dislike and hate. Imagine what encouraging words would do to your relationship to a person or if it’s a stranger the positive effect it would have on their day. Think of it as a domino effect.

So my message to you beautiful people is begin with loving yourselves, do your hair and make-up like nothing else, use highlighters and contouring to enhance your features. Use colours on your eyes that will enhance your eyes. For instance Gold and Coppar for Brown eyes, Purple, Rose and Brown for Blue eyes and Bronze, Coppar and Green for Green Eyes.

But don’t forget that it truly is what’s on the inside that counts and the things that are on the inside tend to be projected in our words and the way we act. So love others and especially encourage the good in others. It may not stop the war that is going on at the moment but it will stop that one person from being discouraged and developing some kind of dislike and hate due to our own insecurities. Which will stop the next domino from falling.

After all, beauty lies in the eye of the beholder and I hope that in your eyes can see your own beauty so that no one can ever distort that picture. You ARE all BEAUTIFUL remember that.
