Hair Trends - Be protective, with a braided perspective

As mid November slowly creeps up on us it’s a clear sign of the beginning of the long, cold, dry, dark (and the list can go on...) winter that is to come here in Sweden.
Although winter means a lot of good things, such as cosy nights indoors with friends and family, one thing is guaranteed that once you leave the house you must protect your hair in this cold and dry weather, that is, if you want to maintain healthy hair. Walking around the streets of Stockholm I have started noticing more and more girls/ladies wearing different types of braids. My own memories of braids is the long half days of sitting and sometimes 2 half days due to “breaks” and simply getting your hair pulled (I have a very sensitive scalp) and of course the constant lookout for “braids on the run” in class rooms, at the gym and during swimming lessons.
But on the other hand braids not only protect but can make your busy life simple. I mean no need to comb and think of hairstyles that require a “5am wake-up call” or a “2 hour the night before” preparation session with hair and bendy rollers. And to my delight many of the celebrities have adopted some of these beautiful braid styles recently with the latest being the newly wed beauty - Gabrielle Union.

And back to Sweden we’ve seen many amazing braid styles by the talented hairdresser A.K.A.hush. Amongst many others she did an amazing job braiding the Stockholm based blogger Ellie Gombya Revaele during her lunch break!

Neat, fashionable and a long-lasting hair-style for busy women, to say the least.
Ciao!
